Horus is an ancient Egyptian god, revered as the god of the sky, war, and kingship. He is typically depicted as a falcon-headed deity or as a falcon with the solar disc on his head, representing his association with the sun. Horus was believed to be the son of Osiris and Isis, and he played a crucial role in the mythology surrounding the struggle between Osiris and his brother Seth. Horus avenged his father's murder by Seth, battling him to reclaim his father's throne and restore order to the world.

Horus was also associated with the pharaohs of Egypt, who were considered his earthly manifestations. The reigning pharaoh was believed to be the living Horus, serving as the bridge between the divine and mortal realms.

As a symbol of kingship, Horus represented justice, protection, and the cosmic order. He was worshipped by the ancient Egyptians, and temples dedicated to him were built throughout Egypt, with the most famous being the Temple of Horus at Edfu.
